Certification of New Buildings
LEED provides a complete framework for assessing building
performance and meeting sustainability goals. LEED
recognizes achievements and promotes expertise in green
building through a comprehensive system offering project
certification, professional accreditation, training and
practical resources.
The full program offers training workshops, professional
accreditation, resource support and third-party
certification of building performance. The applicant project
must satisfactorily document achievement of all the
prerequisites and a minimum number of points to attain the
LEED ratings: Certified -26 to 32 points; Silver -33 to 38
points; Gold -39 to 51 points; and Platinum -52 or more
points.
